Lisbon Earthquake of 1755 on BBC
The BBC radio 4 dedicated a program to the Lisbon Earthquake. This program compares the international response to the earthquake and tsunami in Lisbon in 17555, with the Asian tsunami of December 2004. The program can be heard from here.

No wonder we say the best journalism in the world comes from the BBC. For what I know, not even here in Lisbon has anybody thought of drawing a comparison in one of the major medias...

This year commemorates the 25oth aniversary of the Lisbon Eartquake. I think that when we get closer to the actual aniversary day, which is in November, there will be a lot of stuff in Lisbon about this. I am actually looking forward to see some expositions about the lisbon earthquake.
